Dialysis is a vital process that filters blood from toxins and waste when kidneys stop functioning. In Yemen, thousands of patients face daily challenges to receive these life-saving sessions, especially amid a severe shortage of machines and medical supplies.
Through the Dialysis Support program, the National Kidney Foundation works to provide modern machines and periodic supplies such as filters and tubing, in addition to providing essential medications that accompany the sessions.
The Importance of Continuity
Studies have proven that stopping dialysis for more than 3 days significantly increases the risk of death. Therefore, we work to secure continuous logistical support for health centers in various Yemeni governorates.
