Patient Assistance: Support on the Road to Recovery

Published July 19, 2026 | Direct Assistance Program

Accessing dialysis centers in Yemen is one of the biggest challenges patients face, especially in remote areas. Additionally, the cost of medications accompanying the sessions is often a burden that the patient and their family cannot bear.

Through the Patient Assistance program, the National Kidney Foundation provides free or subsidized transportation for patients living far from centers, in addition to providing essential medication packages needed before, during, and after dialysis sessions.

Not just medicine and transport, but compassionate care

We believe that treatment is not just about medications. Therefore, our program also includes psychosocial support initiatives, where we provide listening and guidance sessions for patients suffering from depression or anxiety caused by chronic illness.

"Patient care doesn't end at the clinic door. Compassionate assistance is what gives patients hope and strength to continue."
